    Agave, Final Days

Agaves sprout and bloom once in their lives and then die. Here's my agave in its final stages. The blossoms are dry and drooping. The original plant is brown and dead.   After the agave died completely, my neighbor, Judy, came over and helped me take it down. Agaves don't sprout and bloom often in…

    Agave, Day 64

The agave was tipping over so I made an effort to contact a tree or lawn service for help. Failing that, I decided to stake it myself. The bottom photo is by my neighbor, Judy. It shows that the agave is as tall as my house. As you can see, the original part of the…

Feeding the neighbors! Happy to help them out.
  • Agave, Day 58

    More blossoms!
  • Agave, Day 56

    It's starting to blossom!

I think it's getting parched by the sun,…
  • Agave, Days 36 and 37

The agave just keeps on growing. I estimate it's twelve plus feet tall. The flowers are more distinct, too.
  • Agave, Day 30

Flowers are progressing! Little bunches have appeared.
  • The top of the agave. It looks like a big asparagus, but there are yellow buds starting to form.

    Agave, Day 28

Oh, excitement! The agave is starting to flower. My neighbor, Judy, took a photo. The flowers are coming out of the asparagus leaves. Can't wait to see them emerge.
